Iwa Shrine

It is located in Ichinomiyacho Sugyoume, Shiso-shi, Hyōgo Prefecture. The deity is Oonamuchi-no-Kami (Okuninushi-no-Kami). In the side shrine, Sukunahiko-no-Kami and Shitateru-Hime-no-Mikoto are enshrined. The Harima no Kuni Fudoki records that the deity is Iwa-no-Okami, who died in Iwa-mura (the current shrine site) after completing the work of building the nation. In the Engishiki, it is listed as a Myōjin-taisha, and since the Middle Ages, it has been revered by warriors and feudal lords such as Nitta Yoshisada, Ikeda, and Matsudaira as the Ichinomiya of Harima Province. In 1912 (Meiji 45), it was listed as a Kokuhei-chusha. Annual festivals are held on October 15th and 16th. From the evening about one week before the 210th day, worshippers pour oil into over 800 earthenware vessels in the precincts and light them on fire in the Wind Chime Festival, and the Mitsuyama Festival, held in the 61st year of the year Kinoene, are also famous. The main hall is built in the Irimoya style facing north.

兵庫県宍粟(しそう)市一宮町須行名(いちのみやちょうすぎょうめ)に鎮座。祭神は大己貴神(おおなむちのかみ)（大国主神(おおくにぬしのかみ)）。相殿(あいどの)には少彦名神(すくなひこなのかみ)、下照姫命(したてるひめのみこと)を祀(まつ)る。『播磨国風土記(はりまのくにふどき)』には祭神を伊和大神と伝え、国造りの業を終え、伊和村（現社地）で亡くなったという。『延喜式(えんぎしき)』では名神(みょうじん)大社となり、中世以降は播磨国一宮として、新田義貞(にったよしさだ)、池田、松平各氏の武家、領主の崇敬が厚かった。1912年（明治45）国幣中社に列した。例祭10月15、16日。二百十日の約1週間前の夕方から、参拝者が境内の800余の土器(かわらけ)に油を注ぎ点火する風鎮祭、61年目甲子(きのえね)の年に行われる三ツ山祭は有名。本殿は入母屋造(いりもやづくり)で、北向きに建てられている。
