It has a single basal leaf with three leaflets, the central leaflet of which is diamond-ovate and the other two leaflets are distorted triangles. Many flowers grow on a spike. The flower has only 7-12 stamens and one pistil, and has no sepals or petals. The ovary contains one ovule. The fruit does not dehisce and contains one seed. It is distributed in the Tohoku region and Hokkaido in Japan, and has also been reported from North Korea. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
