The third Sultan of the Khalji dynasty, one of the Delhi Sultanates in India. Reigned 1296-1316. Nephew and son-in-law of the first Sultan, Jalal ad-Din. He assassinated and exiled Jalal ad-Din and his son, respectively, before ascending to the throne as emperor. He was extremely ambitious, dispatching expeditionary forces to the Deccan and southern India, and succeeding, albeit temporarily, in expanding the sultan's domain, which had previously been limited to northern India, to southern India for the first time. インドのデリー･サルタナットの一つであるハルジー朝第3代スルタン。在位1296‐1316年。初代スルタンのジャラールッディーンの甥で女婿。ジャラールッディーン父子をそれぞれ暗殺･追放して皇帝の位につく。彼は非常に野心的で，デカン，南インドにまで遠征軍を派遣し，これまで北インドに限定されていたスルタンの支配領域を，一時的ながらも初めて南インドに拡大することに成功した。【小名康之】
