An old Chinese province name. In 1645 (Shunzhi 2), the Ming Dynasty province of Nanzhili was renamed Jiangnan. The provincial capital was Jiangning Prefecture, which is now Nanjing, and the province's area corresponds to the two provinces of Anhui and Jiangsu today. In 67 (Kangxi 6), it was divided into the two provinces of today, but customarily, the two provinces were often referred to as Jiangnan.
