〘Noun〙① Under the ritsuryo system, an official in charge of administrative affairs within a village. Initially, 50 households were set as one ri and a village chief was appointed, but around 715 , the first year of the Reiki era, the word ri was changed to go (Izumo Fudoki), and the term refers to the official who governed it.
