Written by Watarai Enkei, a Shintoist of the Edo period. 2 volumes. Completed in 1650, the manuscript was revised and published in 1710. From the standpoint of the unity of Ise Shinto and Confucianism, the book presents the family's Shinto doctrine in the form of a dialogue, with Japan's native Shinto, Kore Shinto, as its main tenet and the ideas of Yin-Yang, the Five Elements, and I Ching as its main tenet. It states that Shinto is present in all aspects of human life, and encourages people to practice the five principles of humanity with honesty, sincerity, and modesty. The title comes from the fact that the book was written in the winter of the year Geng-in in the Keian period, around the time of the return of the yang.
