Instead of creating a tokonoma alcove, a decorative board about 15 to 18 centimeters wide is attached to the wall below the ceiling 's rim, and a hanging scroll is hung by driving in folded nails. 〘名〙 古田織部好みの床(とこ)の様式。床の間を作らないで天井の回縁(まわりぶち)の下の壁面に、幅一五~一八センチメートルほどの化粧板を取り付け、折りくぎを打って掛物をかけるようにしたもの。その化粧板を織部板という。
