Elemental psychology is an approach that breaks down complex mental phenomena into elements and combines them to explain mental processes. This position originated with the psychology of W. Bundt, who attempted to explain mental processes using the elements of pure basic sensations and simple emotions, and EB Titchener took this idea to the next level and refined it. He cited sensations, mental images and emotions as representative elements, and further analyzed these elements into attributes or dimensions. The attributes of sensations and mental images include quality, intensity, duration, extension and clarity, and he argued that emotions lack clarity.
