…In the Kamakura period, Mino Province had Tamekuni and Nenju of Ono County, but in the Nanboku-cho period, Kaneshige, who is said to have been a disciple of Masamune, moved from Echizen to Seki and is said to have built the foundations of Seki blacksmithing, which flourished in the Muromachi period. In the “Seki Kaji Shichiryu no Koto,” which records the genealogy of Seki blacksmiths at Kasuga Shrine in Seki City, it is said that Tegai Kanenaga was adopted by the daughter of Kaneshige's son Kaneyuki, and that the descendants of his son Kanemitsu split into seven schools, including Zenjo Kanekichi, Sanami Kanetaka, Nara Kanetsune, Tokuin Kanehisa, Tokunaga Kanenobu, Ryoken Kanefune, and Muroya Kaneari, each of which formed its own school. From the mid-Muromachi period onwards, there were master craftsmen such as Kanesada at Hachiya, Kanemoto at Akasaka, and Kanesada at Shimizu, centered around Seki, and these are collectively called the “Last Sekimono.” …

…美濃国は鎌倉時代に為国や大野郡の寿命らがいたが，南北朝時代に至り，正宗門人と伝える金重が越前から関に移住し，室町時代に繁栄する関鍛冶の基を築いたという。関市春日神社にある関鍛冶の系譜を記した《関鍛冶七流之事》には金重の子金行の娘に大和手搔包永（てがいかねなが）を養子に迎え，その子兼光の子孫が善定兼吉，三阿弥兼高，奈良兼常，得印兼久，徳永兼宣，良賢兼舟，室屋兼在と7派に分かれてそれぞれ一流派をなしたとしている。室町中期以降はこの関を中心に蜂屋に兼貞，赤坂に兼元，清水に兼定らの名工がおり，これらを包含して末関物と称している。…
