Mészöly M.

...The new writers were influenced by Sarkadi Imre (1921-61), who was Moritz's successor. Other writers who were in their 40s and experienced the war and shed a lot of blood were Ottlik Géza (1912-), Örkény István (1912-79), Mészöly Miklós (1921-), and Mándi Iván (1918-), all of whom were from a generation that experienced the war in their 40s and shed a lot of blood. Even after the war, they continued to write short stories that were similar to surreal short stories, remaining outsiders away from the party's cultural policy. After the unrest of the Hungarian Revolution in 1956, a flood of young artists appeared, producing timely works. Among them, Fejes Endre (1923- ) and Sánta Ferenc (1927- ) became the talk of the town with "The Scrap Graveyard" (1963) and "Twenty Hours" (1963).
