A list of volumes of Chinese and Japanese decrees. In China, the title of an official decree first appeared in the Sui Dynasty's Kaihuang Code (published in 582). 44 articles of the Tang Code have been restored. Japan's official decrees were inherited from the Tang Dynasty's official decrees. The Yoro Code had 21 volumes with a total of 89 articles. A legal code that stipulated centralized document administration and methods for carrying out government affairs. (1) It stipulated the format of official documents such as imperial edicts, imperial decrees, petitions, imperial orders, enlightenments, sodan, hieki, ge, i, fu, cho, ji, iki, keikai, kasho, etc., as well as their creation, implementation, and management, (2) the use of horse carriages and horse-drawn carriages (their management was stipulated in the Kumoku Order) and the dispatch of envoys, (3) the order and work of government officials, records of conferment of ranks and appointments, litigation, opinions, etc. The Taiho Code is presumed to have been almost the same in content.
