A series of important historical documents from ancient times to the early modern period that were compiled, revised and published. From 1897 to 1901, 17 volumes were published under the editorship of Taguchi Ukichi, followed by 15 volumes of the "Zoku Kokushi Taikei" (Continuation of the National History Series) from 1902 to 1904. This covered all the basic historical documents from the "Rikkokushi" (Six National Histories) to the "Tokugawa Jikki". From 1913 to 1916, four volumes of the "Rikkokushi" (Six National Histories) and one volume of the "Ruijū Kokushi" (Compiled and Edited by Kuroita Katsumi) were published. From 1929 to 1964, 60 volumes of the "Shinsei Zoho Kokushi Taikei" (New Revised and Enlarged Kokushi Taikei) and two supplementary volumes (66 volumes) were published. After Kuroita Katsumi's death, Maruyama Jiro and others organized the "Kokushi Taikei Editing Committee" to complete the project. It is considered a basic collection of historical materials for the study of Japanese history. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
