…The study of structures and properties determined by the rotation around a single bond, such as the shape and reactivity of the cyclohexane ring, came to be called conformational analysis. Organic electronic theory, which explains the diverse reactivity and reaction direction of organic compounds by the polarity of bonds and reagents, was established by R. Robinson, Hughes, and Christopher Kelk Ingold (1893-1970). According to them, ionic reactions in which the polarization of bonds is the driving force of the reaction were classified into nucleophilic reactions and electrophilic reactions, and each reaction was further classified into first-order reactions and second-order reactions according to the type of rate-determining reaction. …
