Guang-ya (English spelling)

Japanese: 広雅 - こうが（英語表記）Guang-ya

A Chinese dictionary from the Three Kingdoms period. Written by Zhang Yi. Ten volumes. Published during the Taihe period of the Wei dynasty (227-232). A so-called old dictionary of exegesis in the same vein as the Erya. It was called Guangya because it was based on the old text of the Erya but also took content from a wide range of other books. During the Sui dynasty, it was renamed Boya to avoid the given name of Emperor Yang at the time, and it is still called both today. The Guangya Shuzheng by Wang Niansun of the Qing dynasty is an excellent commentary.

中国，三国時代の字書。張揖 (ちょうゆう) の著。 10巻。魏の太和年間 (227～232) 成立。『爾雅』と同系統のいわゆる古い訓詁の字書。『爾雅』の旧目に拠りつつ，さらに他の諸書から広く内容をとったので『広雅』と称した。隋代，時の煬帝の諱を避けて『博雅』と改めたことがあり，今日でも両様に呼ばれる。清の王念孫の『広雅疏証』が注釈書としてすぐれる。
