Tendai sect. He became a monk at Daisen-ji Temple in his hometown of Hoki (Tottori Prefecture). He became the chief priest of Totochifuku-in Temple on Mount Hiei. He later devoted himself to the reconstruction of the temples and pagodas at Kinzan-ji Temple in Bizen (Okayama Prefecture), Mount Hiei, and Daisen-ji Temple. He also served as head of the schools at Kan'ei-ji Temple in Edo and Mount Haguro. He passed away on June 5, 1613. His secular surname was Nakatsu. His Buddhist name was Hajime Enchi.
