Koide [town] - Koide

Japanese: 小出[町] - こいで

An old town in Kitauonuma District, southern Niigata Prefecture. Located at the confluence of the Uono River and Aburuma River, tributaries of the Shinano River, the main settlement was in early modern times a post town and river port on the way to the Ueda Silver Mine upstream of the Tadami River. The Joetsu Line and Kanetsu Expressway pass through here, and the Tadami Line branches off here. It developed with the development of the Okutadami power source, and is now a tourist base for Tochiomata Hot Springs and Ginzandaira. In November 2004, it merged with Horinouchi Town, Yunotani Village, Hirokami Village, Morikado Village, and Irihirose Village in Kitauonuma District to become Uonuma City. 30.04 ^km2 . 新潟県南部，北魚沼郡の旧町。信濃川の支流魚野川と破間(あぶるま)川の合流点にある主集落は近世，只見川上流の上田銀山へ至る宿場町，河港であった。上越線，関越自動車道が通じ只見線が分岐する。奥只見電源開発に伴い発展，栃尾又(とちおまた)温泉，銀山平への観光基地になっている。2004年11月北魚沼郡堀之内町，湯之谷村，広神村，守門村，入広瀬村と合併し市制，魚沼市となる。30.04km²。１万2545人（2003）。
