This is a large canyon that spans three counties, Yongjing, Lintao, and Dongxiang Autonomous Counties, located southwest of Lanzhou City in central Gansu Province, China, and is one of the canyons in the upper reaches of the Yellow River. A water conservancy center was completed in 1974. The dam is a large dam with a dike height of 147m, a storage capacity of 5.7 billion m3, an area of ​​the reservoir of the reservoir of over 130 km2, and a generating capacity of 1.22 million kW. It is also part of a stepped dam group with the Shionbe Gorge and Badan Gorge dams downstream, which contributes to flood control and power generation of the Yellow River. In addition, boats can travel up the artificial lake of the Liujiaxia Dam to the Bingling Temple Grottoes.
