Khoisan language family - Khoisan people

An African language family. A group of languages spoken by the Khoikhoi (commonly known as Hottentots) and San (commonly known as Bushmen) peoples. It was once widely distributed in southern Africa, but is now limited to parts of Botswana, Namibia, Angola, and Tanzania. アフリカの語族の一つ。コイコイ人（俗称ホッテントット）、サン人（俗称ブッシュマン）らが話し手の言語群で、かつては南部アフリカに広く分布していたが、現在はボツワナ、ナミビア、アンゴラ、タンザニアの一部地域に限られている。さまざまなクリック音（吸着音、舌打音(ぜつだおん)とも呼ばれる）を区別して用いるのが特徴である。◇英語でKhoisan。
