Köln‐Lindenthal

A settlement site from the early Neolithic period (Linear Pottery culture = Danubian I and II culture) in the west of Cologne, Germany, dating to 4000-3000 BC by carbon-14 dating. The entire scale of a Neolithic village, where people cultivated wheat and kept cattle, pigs, and other livestock, was revealed for the first time in Europe during excavations conducted by W. Buttler and others in 1929-34, and became famous. A total of 50 long houses (over 30m long, up to 7m wide) were found in the northern settlement (2670m2) and southern settlement (8270m2).

ドイツのケルン市西部にある新石器時代初頭(線帯文土器文化＝ダニューブI･II文化)の集落遺跡，炭素14法による測定年代で前4000‐前3000年代。麦を栽培し，牛，豚などの家畜を飼った新石器時代の村の規模全体が，1929‐34年のブットラーW.Buttlerらの発掘調査によってヨーロッパで初めて明らかにされ有名になった。北集落(2670m2)と南集落(8270m2)で合わせて50軒の長い家屋(長さ30m以上，最大幅7m)が見いだされた。
