Japanese: アマゾン･リリー（英語表記）Amazon‐lily

A bulbous plant of the Amaryllidaceae family native to the Andes Mountains of Colombia and Peru. It produces pure white, fragrant flowers and is cultivated in greenhouses and used as cut flowers. Its scientific name, Eucharis , comes from the Greek for "pleasant, enchanting," and refers to the beauty and fragrance of the flowers. It grows to a height of 40-60 cm, and produces glossy leaves with long stalks like those of a hosta from the ground. A long stalk emerges from the center of the plant, and at the tip it produces several flowers that curve downward. The stamens are fused at the base to form a membrane.
