Japanese: シナヨモギ（英語表記）Artemisia cina Berg.

A herbaceous subshrub of the Asteraceae family cultivated for its anthelmintic properties. Also called Semen Cina. It grows to about 70cm tall, with woody stems at the base, alternate leaves, deeply pinnately lobed twice, linear, blunt lobes, and hairy, gray-green color. The stems branch at the top and produce small spike-like flower heads, with yellow glandular dots on the involucre. It flowers in late summer. The buds just before blooming are called Chinese wormseeds (English names: wormseed, levant wormseed). Dried wormseed contains about 2% santonin, and is used as an anthelmintic for roundworms.

キク科の草本状の亜低木で，駆虫薬用に栽培される。セメン･シナsemen cinaともいう。高さは70cmほど，茎の基部は木質化し，葉は互生，2回羽状に深裂し，裂片は線形，鈍頭で，全体に毛をかぶり灰緑色である。茎の頂部で分枝して，穂状に小さな頭花をつけ，総苞には黄色の腺点がある。花期は晩夏。開花直前のつぼみをシナ花(英名wormseed,levant wormseed)という。乾燥したものではサントニンsantoninを2％ほど含み，回虫駆除薬とする。
