Japanese: 雄勝[町] - おがち

A former town in Ogachi County, in the southernmost part of Akita Prefecture, bordering both Yamagata and Miyagi Prefectures. Occupying the Yakunai River basin, the town is primarily cultivated as a rice farm, but also produces apples, strawberries, and radishes. Carp farming is thriving. The Ou Main Line, National Route 13, and Route 108 pass through the town, and Akinomiya Onsen, including Inazumi and Yunotai, are part of Kurikoma Quasi-National Park. In March 2005, it was incorporated into Yuzawa City along with Inagawa Town and Minase Village in Ogachi County. 306.02 ^km2 . 9,561 people (2003).

Ogatsu [town] [Ogatsu]

A former town in Monou County, eastern Miyagi Prefecture. The main settlement is at the back of Ogatsu Bay, and fishing is the main industry. They also farm scallops, wakame seaweed, sea squirts, and oysters. It is famous for producing Japanese squirrels. There is a tropical plant community (a natural monument) on Hakkei Island in Naburi Bay. In April 2005, it was incorporated into Ishinomaki City along with Kahoku Town, Kawanami Town, Monou Town, Kitakami Town in Monou County, and Oshika Town in Oshika County. 46.09 ^km2 . 5,382 people (2003).

宮城県東部，桃生(ものう)郡の旧町。雄勝湾奥に中心集落が発達，漁業を基幹産業とし，ホタテ，ワカメ，ホヤ，カキなどの養殖も行う。すずりの生産地として有名。名振(なぶり)湾内の八景(やけい)島に暖地性植物群落（天然記念物）がある。2005年４月桃生郡河北町，河南町，桃生町，北上町，牡鹿郡牡鹿町と石巻市へ編入。46.09km²。5382人（2003）。
