Amakawabushi

Japanese: 天川節 - あまかわぶし
Amakawabushi
It is the title of a piece of classical music created during the Ryukyu Kingdom period, or one of the seven classical female dances. In classical music, two Ryuka poems are sung to the accompaniment of the shamisen: "The mandarin ducks playing in the pond of Amakawa, the promise of their love, I do not know where else they have come from" and "The pond of Amakawa, the depths of which are a thousand fathoms, I hope you will love me even more deeply." The meaning of the poem is "Like the mandarin ducks playing in the pond of Amakawa, no one knows yet that we made a promise in love. I have heard that the pond of Amakawa is a thousand fathoms deep, but please love me even deeper than that."
