Japanese: グンバイムシ(軍配虫) - グンバイムシ（英語表記）lacebug

A general term for insects in the Hemiptera, Heteroptera, Tingidae family. Small, flat, terrestrial stink bugs, most of which are 2.5-4.5 mm long, with even the largest measuring less than 8 mm. The head is small and lacks an eye. The antennae have four segments, with the third being the longest. The pronotum and forewings are finely net-like. The English name is derived from this feature. The pronotum usually has a cap-shaped area in the center of the front, wing processes on the lateral edges, and three vertical ridges on the posterior half. The forewings are transparent or opaque membranous, lack leathery areas, and are folded horizontally.

半翅目異翅亜目グンバイムシ科Tingidaeの昆虫の総称。小型の扁平な陸生カメムシで，大部分の種は体長2.5～4.5mm，最大のものでも8mmに満たない。頭部は小さく，単眼を欠く。触角は4節で，第3節が最長。前胸背および前翅は細かな網目状となる。英名はこの特徴による。通常，前胸背には前方中央に帽状部，側縁に翼突起，後半に3本の縦隆起を備える。前翅は透明あるいは不透明な膜質で，革質部を欠き，水平にたたまれる。
