Military Secrets

Japanese: 軍事秘密 - ぐんじひみつ

This refers to knowledge related to armed warfare, and documents, drawings, objects, etc. related to that knowledge that must be kept secret from foreign countries and therefore designated as secret. For example, many things that must be kept secret in order to win a war include the military strength of the army, navy, and aviation, military policies, operational plans, mobilization plans, deployment plans, organization, equipment, training, human and material resources for military use, and codes. On the other hand, there are espionage and conspiracies from foreign countries that try to learn of these things. Therefore, each country in the world defines national and military secrets and strives to prevent their leaking, and there is a constant fierce battle between information and counter-information between the countries.

武力戦に関係ある知識およびそれらの知識にかかわる文書，図画，物件などのうち，外国に対し秘匿する必要があるため，秘密事項に指定したものをいう。たとえば陸軍･海軍･航空などの戦力，軍事政策，作戦計画，動員計画，出動計画，編制，装備，訓練，軍用に供する人的･物的資源，暗号などには，戦いに勝つため秘匿を必要とするものが多い。一方，これらを知得しようとする外国からの諜報，謀略が行われる。したがって世界各国とも国家機密，軍事秘密を定め，その漏洩（ろうえい）の防止に努めるので，各国のあいだでは情報･対情報の激しい戦いが不断に実施されている。
