Black rockfish - Black rockfish (English spelling) jacopever

A marine fish belonging to the order Perciformes and family Rockfish. It is found in various parts of Japan south of Hokkaido, southern Sakhalin, the southern Kuril Islands, the Korean Peninsula, and China. It is distinguished from other rockfish by the presence of two or three sharp spines on the lower edge of the lacrimal bone (the bone in front of the eye), two black stripes running diagonally backward from the eye, and the white upper and lower rear edges of the tail fin. It is an ovoviviparous fish that gives birth to larvae about 5 to 10 millimeters in length in May and June. It lives on breakwaters and seaweed beds near the shore up to about 20 centimeters in length, but as it grows, it moves to rocky areas 50 to 100 meters deep. It reaches a length of about 60 centimeters. It is often found in waters shallower than 100 meters, and is caught by gill nets, fishing, and fixed nets. It is artificially bred and released. Farmed fish are shipped as live fish. The meat is white and delicious when eaten raw, grilled with salt, or simmered. It is the most expensive of all the soybean species.
