Born: March 16, 1665 in Bologna [Died] July 16, 1747. Bologna. Italian late Baroque genre painter. Commonly known as Lo Spagnolo. He mainly worked in Bologna. He was a pupil of D. Canuti, but was more influenced by the Carracci and Correggio, and his genre paintings with striking chiaroscuro effects influenced G. Piazzetta and P. Longhi.
