Krupp [company] - Krupp

Japanese:
Krupp [company] - Krupp
The company's official name is Fried.Krupp AG Hoesch-Krupp. Formerly known as Fried Krupp AG. Founded in 1811 as a small steel casting factory on the eve of the German Industrial Revolution, it developed into a manufacturer of weapons such as cannons. In Japan at the end of the Edo period, the company's cannons were used as weapons on the warship Kaiyo Maru of the Tokugawa shogunate. By the beginning of the 20th century, the company had already formed a large, comprehensive conglomerate that handled coal, steel, shipbuilding, machinery, and other products. When the Nazis came to power, the company cooperated with them by producing weapons. Air raids and the dissolution of the company by the occupying forces after the war hit the company's production facilities, but it recovered by expanding its steel plants and other facilities. It also became more active in trading with socialist countries and developing countries, but sales peaked in 1965 when they reached just under $1.3 billion, and then fell into a management crisis due to the decline of coal and steel, and a lack of funds for deferred payment exports. Since the mid-1970s, the company has re-entered the military-related sector. It has fallen into a financial crisis. Since 1976, the company has accepted capital participation from the Iranian government. In 1993, the company acquired the steel company Hoesch. In 1993, it went public. In October 1998, it merged with another steel company, ThyssenKrupp. The new company, ThyssenKrupp AG, was born.

Japanese:
正称はFried.Krupp AG Hoesch-Krupp。
