Ikenodaira - Ikenodaira

...The lake surface is 1,420m above sea level, with a circumference of 6km. It is a warm water reservoir built in 1946 at Ikenodaira by damming the Otonashi River (a tributary of the Tenryu River) for rice field irrigation. It was originally called Tateshina Oike, but around 1953, the number of people skating in the winter and visiting as a summer vacationer increased, and the name was changed to Lake Shirakaba.
