A mammal of the bovidae family in the order Even-toed ungulates. A small antelope that lives on rocky areas and walks on the tips of its hooves. It is found in sub-Saharan Africa. Its body length is 75-115 cm, tail length 7-25 cm, height 45-60 cm, and weight is 10-18 kg. Usually only males have horns, which are about 15 cm long and either straight or slightly curved forward. It has a rounded back, short head and tail, and sturdy limbs, and can walk freely on steep rocky areas by touching only the tips of the third and fourth hooves to the ground, and can jump incredibly high. Its ears are large, with white fronts and about three radial black lines.

偶蹄目ウシ科の哺乳類。岩場にすみ，ひづめの先端で歩く小型のアンテロープ。サハラ以南のアフリカに分布。体長75～115cm，尾長7～25cm，体高45～60cm，体重10～18kg。角はふつう雄にだけあり，長さ15cm前後でまっすぐかわずかに前に曲がる。背が丸く，頭と尾が短く，四肢ががんじょうで，第3,4指のひづめの先端だけを地に着けて険しい岩場を自在に歩き，信じがたいほど高く跳躍できる。耳介は大きく，その前面は白く約3本の放射状に走る黒線がある。
