Joruri Gidayubushi. Sewamono (domestic story). Three-stage. A collaboration between Takemoto Saburobei, Toyotake Orits, and Yatami Heishichi. First performed at the Toyotakeza Theater in Osaka in December 1772 (An'ei 1). This is the most famous work among the "Sankatsu Hanshichimono" dramatizations of the double suicide incident at the Sennichi Cemetery in 1695 (Genroku 8) between the female dancer Minoya Sankatsu and Akaneya Hanshichi of Gojo Shinmachi, Yamato (Nara Prefecture). Hanshichi, the son of Akaneya, a sake merchant in Ueshio-machi, Osaka, has a wife, Osono, but falls in love with a female dancer, Mikatsu, and they even have a daughter, Otose. He then kills Imaichiya Zenemon, who is in love with Mikatsu, and becomes a wanted man. However, just before he and Mikatsu commit suicide together, Zenemon's evil deeds are discovered, and Hanshichi is forgiven and saved. Of these, only the second volume, "The Sake Merchant," remains to this day, and is often performed in both Bunraku puppet theater and Kabuki. In this scene, Hanshichi and Mikatsu leave Otsu with a note at the gate of Akaneya before setting off on their journey to the afterlife. The play focuses on Osono's faithfulness to Hanshichi, and depicts the affection between Hanbei and his wife, Osono's father, Sougan, and others in great detail. In particular, Osono's pensive rambling, "I wonder how Hanshichi is by now...", as she longs for her absent husband, is famous and has become a popular work among gidayu narrators.

浄瑠璃義太夫節(じょうるりぎだゆうぶし)。世話物。三段。竹本三郎兵衛(さぶろべえ)・豊竹応律(とよたけおうりつ)・八民(やたみ)平七合作。1772年（安永1）12月大坂・豊竹座初演。1695年（元禄8）の千日墓地における女舞(おんなまい)の芸人美濃屋三勝(みのやさんかつ)と大和(やまと)五条新町（奈良県）の赤根屋(あかねや)半七の心中事件を脚色した「三勝半七物」のなかでもっとも有名な作品。大坂上塩(うえしお)町の酒屋茜(あかね)屋の息子半七は、女房お園がありながら女舞の三勝となじみ、お通という子までもうけたうえ、三勝に横恋慕する今市屋善右衛門(ぜんえもん)を殺して御尋ね者になるが、三勝と心中寸前に善右衛門の悪事が判明し、半七の罪が許されて救われる。このうち下の巻「酒屋」だけが今日に残り、人形浄瑠璃でも歌舞伎(かぶき)でもしばしば上演される。半七、三勝がお通に書置きを持たせて茜屋の門口に預け死出の旅に向かう場面だが、半七を思うお園の貞節を中心に、半兵衛夫婦やお園の父宗岸(そうがん)らの情愛が細やかに描かれ、ことにお園が不在の夫をしのんで物思いにふける「今ごろは半七さん……」のクドキは有名で、義太夫中での人気作になっている。
