Kunitsukami - Kunitsukami
Also written as jishin or jigi. It is the opposite of the heavenly gods of Takamagahara. A god who lived in Ashihara no Nakatsukuni. According to the Ryō no Gige, it lists Omiwa, Oyamato, Katsuragi, Kamo of Yamashiro Province, and Izumo no Onamuchi no Kami. It also refers to gods who had influence in local areas before the descent of the heavenly grandson, such as ubusuna gods.

地神,地祇とも書く。高天原の天津神に対する。葦原中国(あしはらのなかつくに)にいた神。《令義解(りょうのぎげ)》によれば,大神(おおみわ),大倭(おおやまと),葛木(かつらぎ),山城国の鴨(かも),出雲大汝神(いずものおおなむちのかみ)をあげている。また天孫降臨以前の,地方に勢力のあった神をいい,産土(うぶすな)神なども呼ぶ。
