Mr. Kudo

Japanese:
Mr. Kudo
The name began when Tamenori, descended from the Southern Fujiwara clan, became a carpenter and took the title Kudo Daifu, combining the "craft" from "carpenter" and the "fuji" from the Fujiwara clan. The family includes the Ito, Kawazu, Kano, Usami, Soga, and Nikaido clans. Tamenori was the governor of Totomi Province, and his descendants became local government officials in the provincial offices of Totomi, Suruga, Izu, and other areas, and established their influence in various regions. Kudo Suketaka, who is said to have developed Kusumi-sho in Izu Province, also came from a family that called itself Kudo no Suke in Izu, but since he was unable to find a successor, he divided his estate between his adopted son Suketsugu, born to his second wife's daughter, and Sukechika, the son of his legitimate son Sukeie, who died young.
