Guti people - Gutijin (English spelling)

Japanese: グティ人 - グティじん（英語表記）Guti

A nomadic people who lived in the Zagros Mountains east of Mesopotamia. The Akkadian king Naram-Sin conquered the Gutians (c. 23rd century BCE), but they were later invaded again and the Akkadian dynasty was destroyed. The Gutians then established the Guti dynasty and ruled over most of Babylonia for about a century, but their history is largely unknown. They were driven out of Uruk by King Utkegal of the Fifth Dynasty of Uruk around 2130 BCE, and their Babylonian rule came to an end.
