From [Divine Song]

…Kagura Kagura Song [Shigeko Nakamura] (4) Okinawan Divine Songs Okinawa, which has an ancient style of ritual centered around shrine maidens, also preserves various divine songs for festivals. In the Okinawa Islands, there are Miseseru, which means a divine oracle; Otakabe, which worships the gods and makes requests such as rain; Tirukuguchi, which originally started as a divine oracle and is now a prayer to the gods for a good harvest; and Kuena and Umu, which also appeal to the gods at length to their wishes. In the Miyako Islands, there are Fusa, which praises the gods by telling the story of the descent and birth of the gods and the creation of villages; Tabi, which means worshiping the gods; Pyasi, which also praises the gods; and Neeri, which uses elements of the divine songs to grandiosely describe the feats of ancestor gods.
