Gooch - George Peabody Gooch

Japanese: グーチ - ぐーち(英語表記)George Peabody Gooch
Gooch - George Peabody Gooch

British historian. Born to a wealthy London merchant. After studying at the University of London and Cambridge, he traveled to Berlin and Paris to study. He briefly entered politics as a Liberal Party member of parliament (1906-10), but after that, he was fortunate enough not to have a permanent position and devoted himself to research, editing, and writing. His research covered a wide range of subjects, including the history of political thought, historiography, and the history of modern international relations. In the 1920s and 1930s, he also served as president of the Historical Society, the National Peace Conference, and the British Goethe Society. In addition to editing two large volumes of diplomatic documents, he has written over twenty books. His main works include "A History of British Democratic Thought in the Seventeenth Century" (1898), "History and Historians of the Nineteenth Century" (1913), "Germany and the French Revolution" (1920), and "History of German-French Relations 1871-1914" (1923).
