1413‐82 Timurid diplomat and historian. Also known as Abd al-Razzaq. Born in Herat. He first served Shah Rukh and was sent as an envoy to the Vijayanagar Empire in southern India in 1441-44, leaving detailed records of his visit. In 46 he visited Gilan in Iran as an envoy. After Shah Rukh's death, he served Abu al-Qasim Babur and others, and then Abu Said. In 62 he was appointed head of the Shah Rukh Khanqa (monastery) in Herat, where he died.
