Official diaries of the four kings of the Joseon Dynasty, starting with Jeongjo. 2,322 volumes. Compiled by the Kyujanggak. Began in 1760 (36th year of King Yeongjo) when Jeongjo was still the crown prince. After his accession to the throne, the members of the Kyujanggak, which he founded, wrote them on his behalf, and the king himself added and edited them. It continued to be a record for 150 years until 1910 (4th year of King Yonghee), and is a fundamental historical source for research on the Joseon Dynasty, along with the Annals of the Yi Dynasty, the Seongjeongwon Diary, and the Bibyeonsadeungrok. In 1960-72, Seoul National University published facsimiles of 576 volumes and 44 books of the Ilseongrok by the king Gojong (1864-1907).
