A book from the end of the Yi dynasty that records annual events and customs in Korea. Written by Hong Seok-mo. The date of writing is unknown, but there is a preface written in 1849. Dongguk is another name for Korea. It is a valuable record of premodern seasonal customs, and gives insight into the origins of today's seasonal customs in Korea. The only other premodern Korean seasonal almanac is the Luoyang Saijiki by Kim Mai-sun (1776-?) (Luoyang being Seoul), which has a postscript by the author himself from 1819.
