This manor was part of the Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine in Naka County, Awa Province. It is located in the southwest mountain area of present-day Komatsushima City, Tokushima Prefecture. It was also called Kushibuchi Betsumiya. It was donated by Emperor Goichijo in 1017 and passed down to the Tanaka family of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine. After the Jokyu War, Akimoto Jirobei was appointed as the newly appointed land steward, and from around Joō (1222-1224) the deputy's illegal activities continued, leading to Hachimangu Shrine appealing to the Kamakura shogunate several times to stop the violations. In 1281, a peace settlement was reached between the lord and the land steward, with the conditions of a medium division of the land and payment of the land steward's unpaid portion. In 1334 during the Nanboku-cho period, the position of Jito was temporarily assigned to the shrine family of Hachiman Shrine, but in 1396 it became a shugo-ken site, and only the ryoke position and the Komon-tadokoro position remained at Hachiman Shrine.
