Year of birth: Year of birth and death unknown. A military commander in the Yuan Dynasty of China, and commander in the Bun'ei and Koan Wars. His Chinese reading is "Chintu". Mongolian. In Bun'ei 11 (1274), as the Marshal of the Japanese Conquest, he was assisted by Hong Cha-kyu and led 28,000 Mongol troops (including 8,000 Goryeo troops) and 900 warships, invading Sasuura (Komotaura) on Tsushima, Iki, and Hakata, but failed (Bun'ei War). In 1280 (Kōan 3), he proposed a second invasion of Japan with Hong Cha-kyu, and the following year, as the Marshal of the East, he led an eastern army of 40,000 men (including 10,000 Goryeo troops) from Goryeo and advanced on Tsushima, Iki, and Hakata. He tried to join forces with 100,000 troops from the Jiangnan region led by Atahui to attack Dazaifu, but he encountered a storm, his ship capsized, and he barely made it back home (the Koan War). 中国元代の武将,文永・弘安の役の指揮官。中国語読み「チントゥ」。モンゴル人。文永11(1274)年,日本征討都元帥(総司令官)として,洪茶丘の補佐を受け元軍2万8000人(うち高麗軍8000人),戦艦900艘を率いて,対馬の佐須浦(小茂田浦),壱岐,博多に侵攻するも失敗(文永の役)。弘安3(1280)年に洪茶丘と日本再征を提案し,翌年,征東元帥として,高麗から東路軍4万人(うち高麗軍1万人)を率いて,対馬,壱岐,博多に進軍した。阿塔海率いる江南軍10万人と合流して太宰府を攻撃しようとするが,暴風雨に遭い,船体は転覆して,辛くも帰国した(弘安の役)。元寇時の元・高麗軍の最高司令官であるが,結局失敗に終わる。<参考文献>山口修『蒙古襲来』,旗田巍『元寇』
