The first Korean priest. Born in Yongin-hyeon, Gyeonggi-do, he was from Gimhae. His childhood name was Saifuku. His religious name was Andrea. After graduating from the seminary of the Paris Foreign Missions Society in Macau, he began evangelizing in his home country in January 1845, and was ordained a priest by Bishop Ferreol in Shanghai in August of the same year. The following month, he secretly entered Korea with the same bishop and Father d'Abruis to continue his missionary work, but was arrested in Dangsan-jin, Hwanghae-do in June 1846, and executed by beheading in September of the same year (Byeong-o Prison). In July 1925, he was beatified as a martyr by the Church of Rome.

朝鮮人最初の神父。京畿道竜仁県の生れ。金海の人。幼名は再福。教名はアンドレア。マカオのパリ外国宣教会神学校を卒業後，1845年1月以来母国で伝道に従い，同年8月上海でフェレオル司教から神父に叙せられた。翌月，同司教，ダブリュイ神父とともに朝鮮に密入国して布教に努めたが，46年6月黄海道登山鎮で捕らえられ，同年9月，梟首（きようしゆ）に処せられた(丙午教獄)。1925年7月，ローマ教会から殉教者として列福された。
