A chronology of the various schools of Japanese music in the Edo period. Compiled by the Tokyo Music School and written mainly by Kuroki Kanzo. It consists of the first volume, "Tokiwazu, Tomimoto, and Kiyomoto section," the second volume, "Edo Nagauta with Osatsuma Joruri section," and the third volume, "Gidayubushi section," and was published in 1912, 1914, and 1927. It records the performances at theaters of the major schools of music in the Edo period. It mainly records basic information about performances, such as the date and year of the performance, the name of the theater, the songs, and the names of the performers. The "Gidayubushi section" was completely revised by the Early Modern Edition of the Gidayu Nenpyo, but volumes 1 and 2 are still highly useful for research.
