[Born] Jungjong 27 (1532) [Died] King Seonjo 23 (1590) A politician of the Joseon Dynasty (Yi Dynasty) of Korea. Born in Seonsan County, North Gyeongsang Province. His pen name was Inbaek. His pen name was Seongam. He was a leader of the Eastern people. He studied under the Kim Jongji school of thought, and led the up-and-coming Confucian ministers in a conflict with the conservative (Western) faction, Shim Ui-gyeon, which marked the beginning of a history of party strife.
