A town in Kato District, Hokkaido. It borders Obihiro City to the north and occupies the central part of the Tokachi Plain. It produces potatoes, beans, wheat, and sugar beets, and is also a major dairy and beef cattle breeder. It is home to the Tokachi Livestock Improvement Center Tokachi Ranch and Tokachigawa Onsen.
