[Born] Around 874 B.C. [Died] circa 853 BC According to the Old Testament, he was the seventh king of the Kingdom of Israel and the second of the Omri dynasty. His reign was peaceful, with an alliance with the Kingdom of Judah. His wife Jezebel introduced the Baal cult from her hometown of Tyre, but a rebellion broke out and it was replaced by the traditional Yahweh cult.
