One of the Hundred Schools of Thought in the Warring States period in China. A native of Chu. He taught that all people should engage in farming and strive to be frugal, as the teachings of Shennong. One of his books is Shennong, but it is now lost. His theory appears in the first part of Mencius, Teng Wen Gong.
