Gyouyosakka (English: A writer who writes after work)

Japanese: 業余作家 - ぎょうよさっか（英語表記）yè yú zuò jiā

The Chinese word 'yeo' is the opposite of 'professional'. Those who have their works published in the magazines of the China Writers Association and its national branches, and who are qualified to attend literary creation seminars and research groups, are considered 'yeo writers'. The term 'yeo writers' is generally used to include fields such as music, art and vaudeville. Participation fees for the above-mentioned groups and paid holidays are subsidised by the workplace to which they belong. When the quality and quantity of their works become rich, they are recognised as members of the Writers Association and can become full-time writers. In this system lies the key to controlling, manipulating and positioning 'yeo writers'.

中国語の業余とは専業(プロ)に対することばである。中国作家協会およびその全国各分会の雑誌に作品が載り，文学創作講習会や研究会等への有資格者が業余作家とみなされる。音楽，美術，寄席演芸等の分野を含めた〈業余作者〉ということばが一般的。前記の会等への参加費用や有給休暇等は，所属の職場から援助が与えられる。作品が質量ともに豊富になると，作家協会会員として認められ，専業作家になることができる。このシステムに，業余作者に対する掌握･操縦と位置づけの鍵がある。
