This is the name given to a series of plays that Brecht attempted around 1930. It does not refer to plays that educate the audience. Here, the traditional theatrical distinction between performers and viewers is eliminated, and theater is envisioned as a forum for everyone to participate and discuss the theme that has been performed, so that the audience, who were traditionally art consumers, also become performers (art producers). Performers then learn by performing. The world economic crisis of 1929 brought a recession to the theater world, but on the other hand, against the backdrop of the times's clash between the left and the right, it gave birth to the workers' theater movement.
