Also known as a cash register. When a product is sold in a store, this machine displays the transaction status (quantity, unit price, total amount) of the product so that both the store and the customer can understand it, adds up and records the total, and also stores the cash. It originated from a dial register patented by American restaurateur James Ritty in 1879. This was improved to the current model by fellow American Patterson. It was introduced in Japan in 1999. 金銭登録機ともいう。商店などで商品を売り上げた場合,その商品の取引状況(数量,単価,合計金額)の内容を商店にも顧客にもわかるよう表示するとともに,その合計を加算,記録すると同時に,あわせて現金の保管を行う機械。 1879年アメリカのレストラン経営者リティJames Rittyが特許権を得たダイヤル・レジスターが起源である。これを同じくアメリカのパターソンが現在の型に改良した。99年には日本にも紹介されている。
